No food Waste

Our kitchen staff are thoroughly trained and encouraged to handle food with care and responsibility. For example, at the Storchen Zürich, we use the innovative BioTrans system in the hotel kitchen to convert food waste and leftovers into environmentally friendly energy. Similarly, at all our properties, we are committed to strict waste separation and proper recycling practices. Even items like Nespresso pods are carefully collected and returned for recycling.
Starting in May 2025, our "Food Save" project marks another strong commitment to reducing food waste. Together with Foodways Consulting and the United Against Waste initiative, we are analysing and optimising processes in our three Zurich hotels and the Restaurant Buech to systematically reduce avoidable food waste.
