Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of our plant diversity

More than 80% of our native wild plants are not only edible, but also conceal amazing properties that you might not expect at first glance. Find out more about wild herbs, plants and berries on a tour through the forest with wild herb expert Stefanie Gross-blau. Stefanie's extensive knowledge of herbs and her ability to impart knowledge with enthusiasm make the wild herb walks an enriching and lasting experience.  You will also learn how to make aesthetic flower bouquets from wild flowers. Theory is complemented by culinary highlights and cooking classes at this retreat. Delicious dishes will be cooked or wild drinks brewed from plants collected together.

If you are not in the kitchen yourself, you will be served a varied and healthy lunch buffet. In the evening, you will end the day with an aperitif and dinner together around an open fire.

The course is led by wild herb chef and training manager Stefanie Gross-blau. She founded the Empowerment for Life wild herb school in Hundwil (Appenzell Ausserrhoden) at the end of 2017. Her students at the school learn about and use around 200 edible wild plants as part of their training to become wild herb experts.
