Museums of watch cases
-
Duration
approx. 20 minutes
Housed in a fully renovated historic watchmaking workshop, the Musée de la Boîte de Montre presents visitors with two typical workshops from the region: a turning workshop from around 1850 and a workshop equipped with machines from the 1920s. The memorial and commemorative site uses hundreds of objects and documents to illustrate how the individual manufacturing techniques for watch cases (wire rolling, punching, turning, terminate, soldering, polishing) were developed. A first in the history of watchmaking!
